USDA Ag Outlook Forum Acreage Figures
USDA this morning released its Agricultural Outlook Forum acreage, yield and production numbers. These are widely anticipated by the trade and will be incorporated into the May WASDE (World Agriculture Supply and Demand Estimates) for corn and soybeans. The May WASDE includes the first official set of supply and demand tables for the new crop year.
USDA expects a slight decline in total acreage across wheat, corn, and soybean to 224 million (down ~1%). This number assumes a normal level of prevent plant acres and a modest expansion in the Conservation Reserve Program. The Season-average farm prices received by producers for corn, soybeans, and wheat are all forecast to rise slightly for the 2026/27 marketing year.
- WHEAT – 45 mln ac, 50.8 bpa, 1.86 bln bu prod, $5.00
- CORN – 94 mln ac, 183.0 bpa, 15.76 bln bu prod, $4.20
- SOYBEAN – 85 mln ac, 53.0 bpa, 4.45 bln bu prod, $10.30

Later today these numbers will be discussed during the WILLAg.org Closing Market Report and our Commodity Week programs. The following players will update automatically once those programs are released (2 p.m. for CMR and after 6 p.m. for CW). Watch for the dates to change to February 19.
We will also take these numbers up, along with the end of March Prospective Plantings report during the annual All Day Ag Outlook Conference. It is hands-down the best value for your money given the $40 per ticket price tag and the stellar line up.
